How Beezie’s New Claw Mechanics Work
We recently shipped a major update to the Claw that gives us more control over two of the most important parts of the experience: Average Value and SWAP %.

But there’s another important change collectors need to understand:
The SWAP % you see is now the SWAP % you get.
Previously, the displayed SWAP rate was subject to an additional 6% fee when you chose to SWAP. So if a Claw showed a 90% SWAP rate, the amount ultimately credited to your Beezie balance was lower after that fee.
That 6% fee is gone.
If a Claw now shows:
90% SWAP = you receive 90% of FMV.
92% SWAP = you receive 92% of FMV.
No additional 6% deduction.
If you pull a collectible with a $1,000 FMV from a Claw with a 92% SWAP, choosing to SWAP means $920 is credited to your Beezie balance.
What you see is what you get.
With the new system, Average Value and SWAP % can now be configured independently for each Claw.
Both matter, but they provide value in different ways.
Higher Average Value means more overall collectible value is loaded into the Claw relative to the cost of a pull.
Higher SWAP % means you keep more of your collectible's FMV if you decide you'd rather SWAP than hold it.
And again, that percentage is now the actual amount you receive—not a pre-fee number.
In simple terms:
Average Value = the value opportunity inside the Claw.
SWAP % = the percentage of FMV you receive if you SWAP.
No extra calculation required.

For the first full day of the new system, we turned things up.
The updated Claws launched with boosted Average Value alongside the new higher, post-fee SWAP rates, giving collectors an opportunity to experience the new mechanics at their most aggressive.
Internally, we called it “Beast Mode.”
And the community definitely put it to the test.
Within hours, we reached new all-time highs across multiple platform metrics while gathering our first real-world data on how collectors interact with the new system.
Now we're using that data to bring the Claws into their intended starting balance.
Beginning with the next restock, our current target ranges are:

Remember: these SWAP percentages are what you actually receive.
A $1,000 FMV pull at 90% SWAP = $900.
A $1,000 FMV pull at 92% SWAP = $920.
There is no longer an additional 6% fee deducted from the displayed SWAP amount.
These aren't necessarily permanent settings. That's the advantage of what we've built.
We can now test different combinations across different Claws and learn what collectors actually prefer.
Would you rather have higher Average Value with a lower SWAP %?
Or a higher SWAP % with tighter Average Value?
There isn't necessarily one answer that works for every collector—or every Claw.

One thing that hasn't changed is how inventory works.
Every pull removes an item from the Claw.
Nothing gets added back into the machine after a pull.
That means as collectors pull items, the inventory gets smaller and the composition of the Claw changes. Average Value can move with it based on the collectibles that remain.
This update gives us more flexibility to continuously improve the experience.
Different price points may benefit from different SWAP rates. Different inventory may allow for different Average Values. And collector behavior and feedback can help us determine where that balance should sit.
Most importantly, we've made SWAP simpler and more transparent:
The percentage you see is the percentage you get. No additional 6% fee.
We shipped the new mechanics.
The community stress-tested them immediately.
Now we iterate.
More flexibility. More transparency. A better Claw.
We keep shipping.
